Street Fighter V News: Arcade Edition Two-Week Free Trial

Capcom has early gifts to its loyal followers and the new generation of arcade players! As posted in, Capcom will be hosting a free trial play of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition starting April 23rd. The free trial will run until May 5th.

For those who own PlayStation 4, there is no need for a PlayStation Plus subscription to download the game and play offline. However, PlayStation Plus subscription is required if you would like to play the game online. And if you are a PC user, you will need a Steam client to play the trial version.

And as promised by Capcom, all the initial content and modes from the original Street Fighter V will be available! This includes all 16 original characters are playable in the free trial including Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and M. Bison.

In addition, Akuma, Blanka, Juri, and Menat will be available during the free trial. Note that these four fan-favorite characters are available only via DLC. You can play these four characters in Ranked, Casual, Battle Lounge, Training, and Challenges mode. What’s good is that if you buy any of these characters during the trial, you get to keep any progress.

The Arcade Edition

As its name suggest, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will introduce you back to the old-fashioned arcade mode. So what’s in it for you? For old-timers, you get to relive the past modes and moves of your favorite Street Fighter character. For the beginners, you get to understand why the game is so beloved to a lot of people.

And once you have defeated all the computer-controlled opponents, you get a bonus! Over 200 unique illustrations from multiple artists will be available in the Gallery for you to see.

There’s the traditional VERSUS mode where you get to play against another player or computer. For beginners, you can go to TRAINING mode to practice your character’s combo moves. Or go to CHALLENGES and best all other characters in the SURVIVAL MODE.
