What’s New on Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion
Here is the complete Q&A as posted on Nexus Mod:
Q: Does this have SI?
A: No. I’ll add it eventually.
Q: What is the difference between the 2x and 4x version?
A: Judge at these images:
Q: Does this include normal maps?
Q: Do this have parallax maps?
Q: What is included?
A: Two versions, 4x and 2x. List of texture folders:
Included: architecture, armor, characters, clothes, clutter, creatures, dungeons, landscape, oblivion realm, plants, rocks, sky, trees, water, weapons, wood.
Discluded: effects, faces, fire, landscapelod, magic, menus, menus50, menus80.
Total file size of 4x: 21.1G uncompressed
Total file size of 2x: 5.5G uncompressed
Total file size of 1x(vanilla): 1.3G uncompressed
Q: Why is 4x so large?
A: The main idea to understand is quadratic algebra. The area of an image determines the size, roughly.
TLDR; for 2x resolution, 4x larger file size. For 4x resolution, 16x larger file size.
Q: How you do this?
A: I used python to split them, before processing, I have my toolset ‘image manipulator’ on the nexus here. However this link: crop-upscale-merge is a better tool with a GUI.
