Intel Roadmap Leaked: Sapphire Rapids in 2021, Granite Rapids in 2022

The latest leak details Intel roadmap which goes all the way to 2022. The information was said to have been divulged during an April 2019 Huawei event presentation at Saint Petersburg. According to the leak, the codenames for the next Intel server processors are Sapphire Rapids and Granite Rapids. These two processors are said to be the successor of both Cooper Lake and Ice Lake in the 2021 timeframe.

Sapphire Rapids

According to the report posted on WikiChip.org, Sapphire Rapids is scheduled to be introduced during the first quarter of 2021. This processor is said to make use of the Eagle Stream platform and will supposedly support up to eight DDR5 memory channels and PCIe Gen 5. And with Intel’s 10-nanometer, Eagle Stream is said to have Compute Express Link (CXL).

Granite Rapids

On the other hand, Granite Rapids is reportedly going to be released sometime in 2022. While the roadmap for this processor remains unknown, it is expected to be based on the 7-nanometer process and will also use of the same Eagle Stream platform with 8 channels of DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen 5, and CXL.
