AMD executives must be so happy with the performance of their latest monster processor. Indeed they should be proud because its latest release, the Ryzen 9 3950X flagship processor which has 16 cores, has totally dominated its fiercest competitor’s leading product Intel Core i9-9960X. But that’s not all – over-clockers have set three new records using the latest AMD processor.
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Specs
The latest Ryzen 9 3950X is based on 7nm Zen 2 core architecture, and note, it can be fully enabled, which means all 16 cores and 32 threads works! In addition, its specifications include three Chiplets, two Zen 2 dies, and an I/O die based on 14nm.
As for clock speeds, this latest AMD monster runs at a base clock speed of 3.5 GHz and then jumps to a commanding 4.7 GHz boost speed. Considering that this is the flagship processor amongst all the AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors, no doubt it ranks the highest when it comes to clock speed.
The chip will have a 72MB total cache and a TDP of 105W. It should be noted that the TDP is based on the actual base frequency. Understandably, any overclock process will definitely increase TDP usage.
As posted by WCCTech.com, the latest AMD Ryzen 9 3950X process has reached 5GHz when overclocked. What’s great is that it has reached this level on all 16 cores! In fact, this monster processor was seen was running under LN2 and still managed to break three world records, namely:
- Cinebench R15: Ryzen 9 3950X @ 5434 points (Previous WR: Core i9-9960X @ 5320 points)
