AMD is making 2020 a haven for tech analysts, enthusiasts, and hobbyists alike as they are reportedly planning to unveil its next-generation CPU and GPU. In its latest roadmap, AMD Zen 3 core and the 2nd Generation RDNA architecture is said to be scheduled for release next year. So what’s in store for AMD Zen 3?
AMD Zen 3 Rumored Specs
As reported by WCCFTech.com, AMD plans to utilize TSMC’s bleeding-edge 7nm+ process node. This chip is said to deliver higher performance and efficiency rating compared to existing products in the market. Compared to Zen 2 which is the first processor architecture to be based on the 7nm node, Zen 3 is based on a 7nm+ node which reportedly has 20% more transistors than Zen 2. In addition, the 7nm+ process node is said to be 10% better when it comes to efficiency.
According to the report, one of the flagship products based on Zen 3 core architecture is the 3rd Gen EPYC line which will be called “Milan”. It was reported before that a singular node of the Milan CPU has 64 cores and 128 threads and AVX2 SIMD (256-bit) and has support for 8-channel DDR RAM.
The design of AMD Zen 3 7nm+ has already been completed as some reports say, suggesting that production could commence sometime in 1H of 2020.
